The Biggest Spring Trends in 2021

the european closet 9 1

This year’s Spring trends were presented to us in an unusual way. With lockdown, shows were presented via Livestream, which was a new experience for the viewers as well as the designers.

With nothing else to distract the public, our focus was all on the pieces. Designers had to create shows for something unknown. They, like the rest of us, have no idea when or if we’ll be able to go to parties, concerts or dinner dates.

I think overall designers created collections to cheer people up: they were designed to bring back the joy of dressing up even if it’s to go for a walk around the block.

Another thing I noticed was that these spring trends are almost all repeated form years previous, which I find amazing. Of course we have the new trend here and there but the focus this year was styling basics and giving trends continuation. I loved it.

2021 Spring Trends

Pink

Pink is this Spring’s IT color: and the brihgter the better!

Although my wardrobe is pretty much all neutral colors like white, black and brown, I will always have a soft spot for pink – I wasn’t nicknamed “Pink Girl” when I was a kid for nothing.

I’m extremely excited for this color trend! I already have my eyes on a few pink pieces that will go great with my already existing wardrobe.

Relaxed Workwear

This isn’t really a new trend but it will be stronger than ever from now on.

Relaxed workwear basically means getting your workwear, like white shirts and pants, in a size bigger and pairing them with sneakers, slippers, or even a beach bag.

It’s a super chic yet laid back look that I’ve seen a look of people rocking on Instagram.

Loose Denim

Once upon a time, wearing jeans that would let your blood circulate around your legs was seen as a sin. Skinny jeans were the only kind of jeans acceptable.

Nowadays, loose denim is the deal.

When I say loose denim, I don’t mean jeans that fall off your butt from how big they are. I’m talking about straight-leg jeans, bell-bottom jeans, and even baggy jeans that still accentuate your body and don’t make you look like you’re wearing something 6 sized too big.

These styles of jeans have been creeping up on us for a while not, but 2021 is definitely their year.

Totes

A tote is something everyone should have in their wardrobe. Those tiny Jacquemus bags are fun and all but they’re just for you. Your phone won’t fit in there! Heck, I don’t think even a lipstick fits in there.

Totes are super versatile: they can be worn to a bunch of different places and you will not be stressing over the facts that you couldn’t take something with you because it didn’t fit in your bag.
