Are you looking to know how to plan your goals? This post is for you.
To achieve your goals there are two main things you need to do: planning and action. You need to plan every step you have to take to achieve your goal. It doesn’t matter how small you think the step is, identify it. Small details are the most important ones when it comes to goal-reaching.
Today, I’ll show you a few different things you can do to plan your goals make sure you actually achieve what you thrive for.

How To Plan Your Goals
Write it down
The first step to plan your goals is to grab a piece of paper, or your notes app of choice and write all your goals down. This is the best way for you to visualize them, categorize them, and, as I said above, identify the steps you need to reach the end goal.
I’ve personally done this using Trello. I have several boards there from my editorial calendar to my blog goals and personal goals. I love how easily you can manage your goals there. I’ve divided my ‘goals’ board into categories like ‘financial goals’, ‘bucket list’ ‘health goals’, and so on.

Create subgoals
Let’s move on to step 2 on how to plan your goals.
Okay so let’s suppose you have a big goal like ‘Get Healthier’. How can you achieve that? What changes can you make, what things can you add in, what can you take out? That’s where subgoals come in.
Break your goal down into little pieces, actions you can do to achieve the big end goal.
Let’s continue to use the ‘Get Healthier’ goal. You can be healthier by drinking more water, exercising more, taking vitamins, meditating, and so on. Dividing your goal into little actions will make it seem much more attainable.

Set Dates
This is so important! Set a date for when you want a certain goal to be achieved. You don’t have to set dates for your end goals, but you can set dates for little things.
Getting healthier involves a few things as I mentioned above. You can use the subgoals you created and set dates for them. For example, you can say ‘I want to be exercising three times a week by the end of February’.
This will give you more motivation and you are more likely to actually be exercising three times a week by the date you set than if you don’t set a date at all because when you don’t set dates you always think ‘Oh, I’ll start tomorrow’ and tomorrow becomes the next day and so on.
Create a Vision Board
It’s all about visualization and inspiration. If you can see your goals, you’re more likely to achieve them. It’s simple really: when you have a constant reminder of what you’re thriving for you feel more motivated and less forgetful.
I’ve never done an actual vision board before but was sold when I watched Amber Scholl’s video about her vision board and I’m now working on my own.
